Marcin Ber-Krupka (born 1991) is a visual artist working across painting, performance art and sculpture.

He is the creator of abchemism and author of the STACJA RIFSTANGI project — the first Polish art installation created just south of the Arctic Circle, at the northernmost tip of mainland Iceland (66°32′ N).

At the heart of Ber-Krupka's work is the human being, whose need for order clashes with the unpredictable course of events. This tension underlies his exploration of how meaning can be found in a world that cannot be fully ordered according to one's own will.

For nearly a decade, Ber-Krupka has divided his life between Poland and Iceland. His experience of living abroad in the far north has become an important source of his artistic practice. STACJA RIFSTANGI is a long-term site-specific project, underway since 2023 among the ruins of the abandoned Rif farm. Sculpture, landscape and the history of the site come together to form a multilayered whole centred on existential themes.

In abchemism, which Ber-Krupka continues to develop, matter is not merely a vehicle for ideas but also an active force in the formation of the work.

The artist initiates chemical reactions, establishes the conditions under which they unfold, and identifies the appropriate moment to stabilise the state the work has reached, without fully determining the form it takes. The relationship between human agency and what remains beyond control is thus embodied in the structure of the work. The abchemias that emerge from these processes record the transition from the breakdown of the initial configuration, through a phase of indeterminacy, to the emergence of a new order.
